Maximize Your Motorcycle Riding With Saddlebags
It’s eighty four degrees outside and you have a list of things that really need to be handled. You have errands to run, things to pick up, and places to go. Now you struggle with taking a motorcycle ride or spending the day feeling like you really got some important things accomplished. The truth is, you don’t have to struggle with this decision if you have saddlebags. Many motorcycles come with saddlebags as original equipment. For those that have a bike like I am referring to, you already know that the struggle I am speaking of quickly goes away if you have a method to transport items on your motorcycle. Let’s list some of the advantages.
1) Equipment- First and foremost we must be prepared as we travel. When we mount up in the morning we don’t know what we might encounter. To be fully prepared we should be able to take several items along with us. If you have saddlebags you will have the ability to carry your leather jacket, chaps, rain gear, gloves and multiple types of eye protection. I have spoken many times about being prepared for what might come our way while riding, and how having the proper gear is vital to our comfort and success. The use of saddlebags allow us to be in a much better position as conditions change. By having the proper arsenal of gear we greatly increase our chances of being able to address many of the adversities that could come our way.
2) Travel- The summer wouldn’t be complete without a weekend retreat on your motorcycle. Sure it is nice pack up the car or SUV and head out on a Friday night for a weekend trip. But lets step that up a notch. How about packing up the saddlebags with a few changes of clothes and riding to the lake, mountains, or beach. Now that sounds like a great weekend to me!
3) Convenience- Many might not realize the true capacity of saddlebags. I speak from experience when I tell you that if packed and utilized properly, one will be amazed as to what can actually be carried in them. Anything from groceries to the occasional trip to the department store. When your spouse calls you right before you leave the office to let you know something is needed at the house, you will most likely be able to stop at the store on the way home and pick it up. At the end of the day after an awesome ride through the country, you can pick up a few items on the way home. This will be much more fun than parking the bike and getting the car out to run back up to the store.
As we initially spoke about, if your motorcycle has saddlebags you won’t be forced to choose between enjoying some excitement in the wind and accomplishing life’s little task. Trucks have beds, cars have trunks, and motorcycles have saddlebags. So when you are ready to maximize your riding time, be fully prepared, and not allow daily routine and duties to get in your way, fit your motorcycle with a good set of saddlebags.
